Do you need a speaker for your living room or bedroom? Maybe you are looking for some good 2.0 bookshelf speakers with Bluetooth connectivity. We are going to tell you that we have found the EDIFIER S1000DB active speaker, a model with 120W of power, bluetooth connectivity and a capacity to provide great sound that you might not expect.
Maybe you know this brand for the excellent and cheap Edifier R1280DB and Edifier R1700BT, but if you want to take a leap in quality in sound and performance, this model is what you need. It is not as popular as the others, it is a bit more expensive, but the jump in sound quality is tremendous.

The first thing that stands out about these speakers is their large number of connections: PC / Auxiliary / Optical / Coaxial / Bluetooth aptX…. we have something for all tastes and needs. We have connected them via dual RCA audio cable to the TV, and then we use bluetooth to listen to Spotify directly from tablets or smartphones.
As you can see in the image, on the back of one of the speakers we will find all these connections, plus the power button and three wheels where we can change the output volume, the Treble and the Bass. You can customize the sound of your music to your liking.
The cable that is included to connect the two speakers is 5 meters long, so you will have no problem placing them properly at a good distance to get the perfect sound (we have separated them about 2 meters and we have placed them at a height of 1 approximately meters, perfect for listening while sitting in a living room). You can put them on the sides of your TV or also on a shelf that you have nearby.
- They also include in the box a double RCA to double RCA cable, about 160 cm, a double RCA to a 3.5 mm jack of about 160 cm and finally a 145 cm optical cable. It’s not bad at all.
The design is simple and elegant thanks to those wooden areas and the mesh that they have placed in front of the Drivers.
The angular design is specifically put there to create amplified sound for low frequencies, for deep, rich bass without having to buy a separate subwoofer. The S1000DB grille reduces attenuation. The tweeters are made of titanium to create a smooth response rate and give excellent dispersion and better sensitivity than plastic tweeters.
Adding a remote control is a success. And it is well made and is pleasant to the touch. Be careful with losing it. You can turn on the speakers, change the volume and above all, change the sound source.
On the front of the main speaker we find a small panel where we can see a status LED indicating, depending on the color, what type of connection we are achieving (green, blue or red).
The connection via Bluetooth 4.0 aptX was quick and immediate. And it never cuts. The sound quality through this connection is very good and of quality thanks to having aptX.
The moral of all this is that you can connect them to several sources, change them using the remote control and enjoy the music from your mobile via bluetooth or improve the sound of your TV. They are really versatile. And being active speakers you will not need to add anything to the set.
- Eye! They are quite heavy. Take this into account to be able to put them on a sturdy base.

These speakers provide tremendous power: 120W, and thanks to its 1 ″ tweeter and 5.5 ″ Driver, you are going to get a powerful, well-balanced sound that shows us all its power throughout the frequency range. You will discover sounds in your songs that did not appear before.
What sound are you going to get? The highs are clear and powerful. The mids are well defined and the basses have a good definition and you are going to love them if you are a fan of rock music. Performance is generally very good at all frequencies.
You won’t be able to blast them out … without your neighbors complaining. The volume they can achieve is tremendous, so you will be able to use them even in the largest rooms.
Are they better and offer more than the Edifier R1280DB or Edifier R1700BT? Clearly yes. In every way, but they are also more expensive than these two models of the brand.
Nothing bad about them? Well, the truth is that you can’t ask for anything bad from them, except that you have to get them at a good price. The sound they offer for their size is tremendous.
Just one thing: the sound gradually improves over time. They sound better after a few months of use. It is one thing to keep in mind. It’s not that they sound bad at first, fresh out of the box, it’s that their sound improves noticeably after a while.
Conclusion: Are the EDIFIER S1000DB speakers worth buying?
A resounding YES. It is worth it that you jump in front of his little brothers and give yourself a little luxury. You won’t regret it for manufacturing quality, number of connections or sound quality and power.
They are very versatile active speakers that will give you a lot of joy. You just have to find a good place to put them in your house and enjoy them.
The sound it has is powerful and well represented in all frequencies … and the design is elegant and does not clash in any room. They are somewhat heavy, keep that in mind.
They are not speakers to place the side of a computer and you start writing. They are designed for a good size room or for a room that is not small.

It is not one of the most popular Edifier speakers, but it is one of the most worthwhile if you can find them at a good price (something that already happens).
