The tank should also be filled with lukewarm water, and emptied manually if all the water has not been used in order to avoid stagnation. Unfortunately, the method requires the apparatus to be turned over over a drain, since the reservoir is not removable, which is not necessarily convenient. Fortunately, the small weight of the device (1.2 kg) facilitates the maneuver.

The Jet 240’s navigation is uncertain, as it is not equipped with a laser range finder. On the other hand, it has effective obstacle sensors to avoid watering the carpets but also to prevent any impact with the furniture.

The robot is controlled by means of a smartphone application, to which it can only be connected by bluetooth. The functionalities are not very numerous for this entry-level model, but we appreciate the possibility of creating virtual walls in order to restrict access to a specific area.

Easy to handle due to its compact format (17 cm wide and 8 cm high) and its carrying handle, it is also very easy to use, in particular thanks to the wipe ejection system which allows avoid excessive contact with dirt.

Unfortunately, however, it does not have an empty tank warning, which means that it continues to move forward despite the absence of water to spray. Its simplicity of operation and its autonomy of one hour therefore limit its use to small rooms in the house, such as the bathroom or the kitchen.

Rather easy to handle thanks to the wipe ejection system, this robot is also intuitive in its use. Even though the connectivity is a bit finicky, users don’t have much to complain about, as washing is effective on most surfaces. The autonomy of 2 hours is, for its part, hardly questionable.

With its 8 cm high, it slips everywhere and discreetly, since its noise level does not even exceed 50 dB.

A cheap alternative: iLife W400

This robot mop is distinguished by being equipped with two tanks, one for clean water, the other for dirty water, offering a different cleaning solution from that of its main competitors.

The first tank, for clean water, offers a nice capacity of 850 ml. After spraying the water, the robot runs a fast rotating roller to scrub the floor and sucks the dirty water into a tank with a capacity of 900ml. A squeegee removes the last traces, leaving the surface almost dry immediately after its passage.

Please note, however, that the appliance does not accept any form of detergent. Users therefore say that they cannot do without a good classic mop. The large capacity of the two tanks, if it is appreciable in terms of autonomy, affects the volume of the device, whose 12 cm height will not be able to squeeze everywhere.

The robot is not equipped with any laser sensor, so it is satisfied with a random navigation, facilitated by obstacle and vacuum sensors to avoid any impact against the furniture. Like many robots of this type, his pet peeve is the doorstep, which he cannot overcome on his own. It is therefore necessary to move it from one room to another, handling facilitated by the transport handle.

Rather basic, we understand that no programming is possible on this robot. However, its cleaning performance remains sufficient in daily use, in addition to other household equipment.

Some have noticed that the W400 was visually very similar to the Amibot Swip AS70 (although offered at a slightly higher price), which is explained by a factory construction simply bought by the brands, on which they are content to affix their name.

If this does not pose any problem in itself, the two brands ensuring correct after-sales service each on their own, this impacts the overall quality of the device, which displays a certain fragility and small defects in the finishes (the involuntary dismantling of the squeegee due to the weakness of the magnet, in particular), hence the availability of the device at such a low price.
